While a ton of attention has been paid to Notre Dame football trying to hold onto Deuce Knight, Marcus Freeman and company certainly have other prospects they’re trying to lure in as well.

In fact, when it comes to the wide receiver class, the Irish are after a ton of the top players in the country. One in particular wouldn’t have to go far if he decided to call South Bend his home in the coming years.

JonAnthony Hall is a relatively late chase for the Notre Dame football team. That might be why at the present, they’re seen as trailing other in-state schools like Purdue and Indiana. However, during a recent trip to check out the Fighting Irish, Hall made it clear things could be changing.

According to On3 recruiting experts, Hall currently has a 28 percent chance of picking Purdue. That’s followed by Indiana at a close second with a 19.1 percent chance of landing the 4-star wide receiver.

The Golden Domers are third with a 16 percent hope of getting the talented Fishers, Indiana prospect. It’s not very often you’re going to see the Irish trailing both of the school’s in-state rivals. But both the Boilermakers and Hoosiers have put a bit more focus on Hall.

However, during his visit, ground could have been made up. What might have changed things?

“Definitely going on the field and throwing with Deuce [Knight],” Hall said of Notre Dame’s quarterback commit, who has been on campus this week. “That guy can definitely spin it … Getting to throw with him opens up my eyes to possibilities. That was definitely a good experience.

The Notre Dame football team has its irons in a lot of fires when it comes to wide receivers in the 2025 class. Having said that, not landing JonAnthony Hall would have to be considered a miss.
