Ex-Notre Dame football star blows fall camp teammates away
It’s easy to forget, with all the excitement around the Notre Dame footbal team this season, that there’s plenty of reason to watch the NFL as well. If you need a reason right off the bat, look no further than Audric Estime and what he might do as a member of the Denver Broncos this season.
Estime wasn’t an early pick in this spring’s NFL Draft. But that might be why he could eventually be looked as one of the biggest steals. He’s someone who might have cost the Broncos little capital and offer a big reward when all is said and done.
The running back showed flashes of that this week, as the Broncos fall minicamp officially began. In a clip posted to Twitter by The 33rd Team, Estime is shown doing what could make him a hard man to tackle this season. He takes a hand off up the middle and runs largely untouched.
When he does meet a defender, he lowers his shoulder and charges right through him.
Ex-Notre Dame football star shows off why he’s valuable
Estime is never a guy that’s had blazing speed. He is however, someone who has good speed for his size. And with the power he can bring to his running style, he can be a real asset in the NFL.
The former Notre Dame football player ran for over 1,300 yards and 17 touchdowns last year. And it should be a surprise to no one that he tended to get better as the game went on. If he can do that with the Broncos, there’s a job to be won.
