The Notre Dame football team never sleeps when it comes to trying to land the absolute best players in the 2025 class. One of the ways that the Irish are trying to lure kids in is with a big Junior Day on January 20.

The visits were already going to be pretty impressive for this first big visit weekend of the new year. Now Marcus Freeman and company have gotten an even bigger visitor locked in for a winter trip to South Bend in wide receiver Taylyn Taylor.

Taylor is a 4-star receiver that already has over 20 offers and is ranked in the Top 100 prospects in the 2025 class by most of the major recruiting services. Rivals has him ranked as the second-best player in the state of Illinois, the 6th best receiver in his entire class and the 27th ranked player overall.

On3 has Taylor as the 7th best receiver and the 80th best player. Only 247Sports seems to be the real naysayer as they don't have him ranked in the Top 100 players and he's considered just the 31st best recever in the class.

Of course, now that the recruiting calendar has turned its attention to the 2025 classs, Taylor will almost certainly start to get more attention from the recruiting gurus. He'll also certainly start to get more attention from Notre Dame football coaches.

Notre Dame football adds big visitor in Talyn Taylor

Matt Freeman was among the first to report that the Fighting Irish are among the first schools this year that Talyn Taylor is visiting.

At least one of the reasons why Taylor appears to be showing Notre Dame football some love is that he's got a good relationship with new wide receivers coach Mike Brown. Taylor's visit to South Bend this weekend will be his fourth unofficial visit.

The only other school that Taylor has paid more visits to is Wisconsin, where Brown used to coach. Now Brown is working on bringing the talented receiver into the fold for his new school. We'll see how much headway is made on Sunday.
