The Senior Bowl announced Wednesday that 16 members of the Notre Dame football team have earned spots on the 2024 Reese's Senior Bowl Watch List. That's almost certainly among the most players of any team in college football this year and demonstrates just how much of a veteran presence the Fighting Irish have on their side.

Obviously, not every player on the Senior Bowl Watch List will play in the game, but the 16 named are quite a bit more than the five who played in last year's contest.

The Notre Dame football team will be relying on these 16 players to try and lead them to the playoffs. Among the most notable names are quarterback Riley Leonard, safety Xavier Watts and tight end Mitchell Evans.

The Reese's Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game and the first stage in the NFL Draft process. The longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama the past 75 years.

More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 1100 media members from around the country were credentialed this year. This past April, the game produced 110 total picks, representing 43 percent of the entire NFL draft.

The full list of Notre Dame players to make the list are:

  • Tosh Baker
  • Jordan Botelho
  • Jordan Clark
  • Beaux Collins
  • Pat Coogan
  • Howard Cross III
  • Mitchell Evans
  • Mitch Jeter
  • Jack Kiser
  • Riley Leonard
  • Rylie Mills
  • Kris Mitchell
  • Benjamin Morrison
  • RJ Oben
  • Jayden Thomas
  • Xavier Watts

Last year, Sam Hartman, JD Bertrand, Cam Hart, Marist Liufau, and Javontae Jean-Baptiste participated in the game. Of that group, Bertand, Jean-Baptiste, Hart and Liufau were drafted.

Hartman is currently in camp with the Washington Commanders, trying to earn a spot on their roster or practice squad. He was signed as an undrafted free agent shortly after the 2024 NFL draft ended.

With the group of Notre Dame football players on the Senior Bowl Watch List this fall, it seems as though at least some of them will once again prep for the draft using this hallowed game.
