Well-known comedian and notorious Notre Dame fan Shane Gillis will take the stage at the ESPYs tonight as the host of the biggest awards show in sports. Don't be surprised if he throws in some cheers for the Fighting Irish during his opening monologue, along with probably all the jokes and roasts he has planned.

Before hosting the award show tonight, ESPN posted on its social media Gillis predicting the season for the Fighting Irish, and his responses should surprise no one. Of course, Gillis believes that Notre Dame will go undefeated this season, maybe suffer one loss somewhere, but overall, he believes the Fighting Irish have a real shot to run the table.

Now, the best part of this video is how much he roasts the teams that the Fighting Irish are set to play against. When talking about the first two matchups against Miami and Texas A&M, Gillis talked about how fun it is to play those teams early in the season because they don't realize they're bad teams just yet. He also hinted that the only reason fans will be in the seats against Miami is only because they are playing Notre Dame.

Gillis has never hidden his pride for being a Notre Dame fan. Growing up in Pennsylvania, Gillis has always been a Fighting Irish fan, so getting to watch the 2024 season unfold the way it did was something special for him, according to a Q&A session Gillis had with the Athletic before hosting the ESPYs.

Notre Dame is gearing up for the 2025 football season

The Fighting Irish are coming back with vengeance this season after falling just short of a National Championship last season. Head coach Marcus Freeman has kept his eyes on one prize this offseason, and that is doing everything possible to bridge the gap that Notre Dame left last season.

While the team will look different this season, Notre Dame still has some key players returning, like running back Jeremyah Love, who is returning for his third season with the Irish and returns with a love of buzz around his play.
