Justice Dingle is a hard-hitting, versatile linebacker who holds offers from Tennessee, Kentucky, Louisville, Indiana, Middle Tennessee State, Purdue, Virginia and Eastern Kentucky. He finished his junior season with 68 tackles, 3 sacks, one interception and added a forced fumble and punt block, while missing 5 games due to injury.
His versatility, quick pursuit to the football and big-time hitting ability are all things that college coaches covet, including the staff at Notre Dame.
“I’ve been in contact with the quarterback coach and he’s been trying to get me up to spring practice,” explained Dingle. “I’m just trying to find a good weekend to come up and check ’em out.”
I asked Dingle if Notre Dame is a school that he is interested in. “Yes sir. Most definitely,” answered Dingle. Again, he mentioned that he is in the planning stages in terms of visiting South Bend. “I’m still trying to figure out which date it might be and how I’m going to get up there.”
Dingle shows Vanderbilt interest, per his 247Sports profile. Considering they are also a strong academic institution, I asked Dingle if his education is something he takes seriously. “Yes sir. That’s the first thing on my list,” Dingle stated.
I asked Dingle if he has a top list as of now or if any schools are sticking out to him. “No sir, I’m still trying to figure that out,” he answered.
The 6’2, 235-pound linebacker has taken in many campus tours so far during his recruitment but has yet to venture north lately. “I’ve kinda been all over. More the southern schools, I haven’t got up to Notre Dame since I was a freshman and I’ve changed a lot since then. I went up there with my older cousin,” said Dingle. “It’s been a while.”

Justice Dingle is used in a variety of ways within his defense. It seems as though his coaching staff likes to take advantage of his versatility by playing him at inside and outside linebacker, as well as defensive end with his hand in the dirt. “I’m mostly being recruited as an inside linebacker,” said Dingle.
I asked Dingle which schools have been contacting him the most. “I’d say all of them are kind of the same,” answered Dingle. I asked him if he had a top group of schools that he’s considering. “No sir, not yet, but definitely by this summer I will have a top 3 or 5 or whatever,” he said.
I asked Dingle what he looks forward to accomplishing during his visit to Notre Dame.
“Just the atmosphere and the facilities. I got to talk to some of their coaches, and I kind of got a good feel for them and I just love the culture there,” said Dingle. “I’ve spoken with their linebackers coach Lea,” he added.
Given that Notre Dame is still considering linebackers for their 2018 class, after receiving commitments from mike linebacker Matt Bauer of Pennsylvania and versatile linebacker Ovie Oghoufo of Michigan, Justice Dingle could get an offer from the Irish to fill one of their open spots at the position.
Considering Notre Dame has installed Mike Elko’s 4-2-5 base scheme, the Irish may only be looking for one more linebacker. Justice Dingle, versatile as he is, could be their guy. Keep your eye on this recruitment. A visit could happen soon and an offer could follow.
