Amon Ra may be the most electrifying receiver in the country and Notre Dame football wants him in South Bend.

Amon Ra St. Brown, brother of Notre Dame’s current star receiver Equanimeous St. Brown, has held an Irish offer since June 12, 2015. The Mater Dei product has visited campus several times and competed in the last Irish Invasion camp that he hopes to make it to again this year.

“Money is tight right now so I’d need to talk to my dad about that. I don’t plan to fly to anything,” said St. Brown. “As of right now, I’m not sure yet.

St. Brown had a monster junior season in which he caught 60 passes for 1,229 yards resulting in 21 touchdowns. The consensus 5-star recruit also added 260 punt return yards and one touchdown. His potential in the return game at the college level is very high.

As a result of his talent, St. Brown has received 25 scholarship offers to many top college football programs, including; Alabama, Stanford, Notre Dame, USC, Ohio State, Michigan, Auburn, and Georgia. I asked the dynamic receiver which schools are sticking out to him currently.

“Right now, I’m just looking at every school. I’m open to any school right now, there are no real leaders right now. A school that I like is a school that’s going to give me a shot to play early,” expressed St. Brown.

“All I ask is for a fair chance so any school that’s willing to let me play early as a freshman is a school that I like and then obviously academics is what I’m looking for too,” stated Amon Ra who is interested in studying business.

Amon Ra is proud of his oldest brother Equanimeous in how he bounced back from a rocky, limited freshman year to emerge as the top target in the Notre Dame offense.

“Last year was the first time you got to see who he really was because freshman year he got hurt and didn’t get to play much. So, I think last year he really showed everyone what he can do as a receiver” said St. Brown.

“He had a great season and I think if he keeps it up this year, he will be doing great things in the near future,” St. Brown expressed.

Next, he spoke about his teammate and brother Osiris St. Brown who will enroll at Stanford after he graduates in a few months.

“He’s doing great, you know, he’s just getting ready for Stanford and trying to finish up his grades as he’s about to graduate from Mater Dei here. He’s getting ready to go up to Stanford and ball out,” he exclaimed.

Amon Ra isn’t expecting to travel out of California for unofficial visits at this time, but would certainly like to if his family’s budget were to allow it. With an abundance of schools contacting him regarding unofficial campus visits, there’s only so many traveling that is realistic the St. Browns.

“I would love to travel across the country and visit schools, but things are tight so I’m going to USC this Saturday because it’s close, you can drive there. Then, maybe UCLA and then maybe Stanford again, I’m not sure yet,” stated Amon Ra.

“That’s about it, I think. If we can’t get flights, like I said, then I can’t travel far like I want to, but I can always take official visits and they’ll be my go-to,” St. Brown explained.

There are rumors that Stanford, Notre Dame and USC are frontrunners for his pledge. I asked St. Brown if that was the case or if more schools, like Alabama, were in his consideration of schools he may attend.

“A lot of schools are keeping in contact with me. I’d say around 7 schools are always keeping in contact with me, texting me, asking me how I’m doing,” he explained. “As of now, that doesn’t always define what school really wants me most,” he mentioned.

"“I’m just keeping my head level and still just looking at every school because you never know what happens,” stated St. Brown."

I asked St. Brown if playing for either Notre Dame or Stanford to play with one of his brothers plays a key factor in his decision.

“Definitely, It would be great to play with one of my brothers. That would be awesome to be on the same team, playing college football with one of your brothers. That would be sweet, but at the end of the day, I’m going to do what’s best for me,” St. Brown mentioned.

Amon Ra stated that wherever he chooses to commit, he has the understanding and support of his family.

“Whatever is best for me is what I’m going to do and they totally understand that. I mean, yeah they would love to play with me also, but they want me to do what’s best for me. Whatever is best for me is what they’re looking for,” stated St. Brown.

One thing that separates Amon Ra St. Brown from other high school football players is his strength and speed that he has gained through intense physical fitness. He has continued that trend this offseason with a new approach.

“Since the season ended, I lost about 10 pounds because you lose weight during the season. After the season, I took a three-month break. After that, I started lifting again and I took my dad’s protein, it’s called Cane Protein, and I put on ten solid pounds ever since, he expressed”I really suggest that people start taking it,” St. Brown added

Amon Ra’s teammate Bru McCoy has emerged as one of the most talked about underclassmen recruits in the country. I asked St. Brown which position he predicts that McCoy will end up playing at the college level.

“Bru, he’s one of our best pass rushers. He had the most sacks last year. He didn’t even play full-time defense, he was just playing on third downs and stuff,” he boasted.

“He’s a good receiver also. One of the best receivers in his class, so I think he can do both. Whatever he wants to do is what he’s going to be best at, wherever he put the most work in. He said he likes receiver, so I don’t know. He can do anything,” St. Brown explained.

Another Mater Dei recruit who holds a Notre Dame offer is 5-star, 2019 quarterback- J.T. Daniels. Amon Ra addressed the prized signal caller’s talent and spoke highly of his work ethic.

“J.T. obviously has proven himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the nation, regardless of what grade he’s in. He makes all the reads, calls all the plays. I mean, he’s in the film room almost as much as the offensive coordinator, so he works a great offensive scheme. He’s just amazing,” said St. Brown.

Being that Amon Ra has obvious elite talent, as well a 5-star status and kinship of two brothers that are linked to two of his assumed recruitment leaders, the big-play receiver will continue to be spoken about at a high level until he laces up his cleats for whichever school he chooses.
