Second Cornerback

With the early departure of All-American cornerback Julian Love — who was drafted by the New York Giants — the Irish are looking for someone to do even half of what Love did last season. Some reasonable options include Shaun Crawford, Houston Griffith, Tariq Bracy, and Donte Vaughn. However, each one has reasons for fans to doubt their abilities. Crawford and Vaughn are veterans, but neither of them have ever been able to stay healthy. On the flip side of that, Griffith and Bracy are both young.

I do believe Notre Dame is still in good shape at the cornerback position, as they do have multiple options — which I listed above. As to which one is the answer to this problem? Time will tell. If Crawford can stay healthy, he will be tough to keep off the field — but he will also likely be the first guy in when it comes to the nickel position.
