Notre Dame football: Interview with 2022 commit Tyson Ford

Wrapping Up

Smith: Are there any current or former Notre Dame Players that you say you embody your game after?

"Ford: “I just started watching College Football about two years ago, but I know a lot of people compare me to Stephon Tuitt. So I actually, I watched some of his highlights. We have pretty good similarities, I think. Well, we’re both big and quick athletes. I think his part of the game, he was explosive and strong and he just had an engine of when to slow down, and so he also wore number seven, the number I want to wear. I know Isaiah Foskey wears that number now, so hopefully I’ll be able to get that off of him.”"

Smith:  “Just going there for spring is perfect because I feel like I said, you get more time with the coaches, the playbook, and I feel like you get that extra step, especially with spring ball going into the spring game than the people that are coming in the fall because the coaches have seen you. The coaches have seen you practice and that gives you that step ahead. So especially for you wanting to get that day one impact at Notre Dame starting as a freshman spring ball is going to be great.”

"Ford: “It really is. I’m really excited to be up there too, not just for the football aspect, but I’m just ready to meet because the people that I might be friends with for a really long time. You know, college is a time where you meet a lot of great people, so I’m excited for that.”"

Smith: “Especially the brotherhood that you’re going to have there at Notre Dame it’s unlike any other.”

We would like to thank Tyson for sitting down and talking with us about his visit, his senior season, and his expectations with this Notre Dame football program. There is no doubt that he is going to be an impact player in South Bend, and we cannot wait for him to get started.
