The Notre Dame football team is losing a star at wide receiver this offseason, and here, Kevin Austin Jr. gives his ‘elevator pitch’ for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Going into next season, the Notre Dame football team has to make sure they figure out how to replace star wideout Kevin Austin Jr. Breaking out in 2021, Austin led the Irish with nearly 900 yards receiving, and finally healthy, showed why he should be a pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Austin made his decision to leave the Irish despite having eligibility left, and it has looked like a great choice. He has done a great job during the draft process, shining at the NFL Combine and during his Pro Day, setting the stage for him to possibly be a Day 2 pick this year.

When you consider that he was a borderline selection going into the draft cycle, and seen as a possible Round 7 pick, or even an undrafted free agent, he has used these opportunities to bolster his draft status.

This week, he sat down with FanSided’s Matt Lombardo, their Senior NFL Insider, to discuss numerous things heading into the draft, including giving his ‘elevator pitch’ to potential NFL teams.

Speaking with Lombardo, towards the end of the interview, the veteran reporter gave Austin Jr. the chance to give his 0:30 second ‘elevator pitch,’ and Austin Jr. knocked it out of the park. Based on his physical abilities, passion for the game, and attitude towards getting better, Austin is going to be someone who succeeds at the next level.

This has been an excellent draft season for Austin Jr., and there are plenty of wide receiver-needy teams heading into this year’s draft. If he can stay healthy, Austin has proven he can be a playmaker, and after seeing Ben Skowronek win a ring with the Los Angeles Rams last season, maybe Austin lands in a perfect spot this draft cycle.
