The Notre Dame basketball team has had a very interesting season so far. There was quite a bit of hope that the Fighting Irish would be real contenders in the 2024-25 campaign. Then Markus Burton got injured and fans of the program had to sit and wonder just how long he’d be out and how many games the Blue and Gold would lose until he was back,
Well, Markus Burton is back and unsurprisingly, the Irish season is back on the upswing. Following a four-game losing streak that included two 1-point games, Marcus Shrewsberry’s squad has won two games in a row and brought its overall record to 10-10 on the season.
If the Notre Dame basketball team wants to have any shot at a postseason this year, they’re going to need to win the vast majority of the games they have left. And they’re going to need to get a pretty good seeding in the ACC Tournament. It appears they’ve got things covered in the seeding department when looking at one early projection.

In the age of the super conferences, it can be difficult to keep track of just who makes the conference tournaments, let alone where they’re going to be seeded and what that means.
Projection sports has their latest bracket projection and it has the Irish getting the No. 9 seed. That means they’ll be taking on the Stanford Cardinal in their first game of the tournament.
Should they win that game, they would then be headed to a game against Duke. That hardly sounds like an easy draw, but it’s not the toughest path to making some noise either. Especially as the Irish will have a little more time to improve their resume.
Next up for the Notre Dame basketball team is a game against a Miami Hurricanes squad circling the drain. And should they win that game, they’re seeding spot could start getting even better in a hurry.
