Bitter blow for Notre Dame football as USC trolls after big recruiting coup

The Notre Dame football team hasn’t had a great couple of weeks on the recruiting front. They’ve lost a few head-to-head fights with some bitter rivals. And now, one of its most bitter rivals not only won a recruiting fight, but USC is sticking its thumb in the Fighting Irish’s collective eye.

Since Chad Bowden left South Bend, he’s made it clear that he doesn’t care about burning bridges. However, this past week, the new Trojans General Manager is just trolling.

It was bad enough that Notre Dame football lost the fight for legacy wide receiver prospect Trent Mosley. But after USC secured his commitment, they put out a highlight reel, and every single highlight was of a Trojans player getting the better of the Fighting Irish.

The video also uses a voiceover from Trojan great Mike Williams who is clearly happy to talk about his old school stealing Mosley away.

This particular troll job especially hurts because it wasn’t that long ago that Mosley seemed to be someone who the Irish could not lose. The son of ex-ND RB/WR Emmett Mosley IV and women's soccer standout Cindy Mosley, he’s not just a legacy prospect but a double legacy.

One has to wonder just how USC was able to not only get its foot in the door, but pull him away from the school where both his parents attended.

Granted, this isn’t the first time that a member of younger generation of Mosleys went elsewhere. Trent’s brother Emmett picked Stanford. Granted, he wasn’t as heavily recruited by Notre Dame football than Trent, who is a 4-star wide receiver prospect from Rancho Santa Margarita.
