When it comes to getting hyped about the Notre Dame football team being in EA Sports College Football 26, Irish fans already knew about a few favorite people and things in the game. With the addition of coaches this year, Marcus Freeman is in. Whether Chris Ash and Mike Denbrock are as well is still a mystery.

Obviously, the field and the look of Notre Dame stadium are in this year’s version of the popular football video game as well. Jeremiah Love was shown giving an opponent one heck of a stiffarm (he should have been hurdling someone) and of course, the rest of the team will be in there at some point (even if it means a little later in the year with roster updates like in 2024.)

‘I’m Shipping Up to Boston’ rumored for Notre Dame intro in EA Sports College Football 26

One rumor that started circulating on social media earlier this week is that one of the more recent pre-game traditions could be in the game as well. There are rumors at the very least that “I’m Shipping up to Boston” is in the game and ready to get Notre Dame football fans all sorts of fired up ahead of the virtual big game.

Fighting Irish fans who attend home games or watch them on NBC/Peacock know that the stadium operations crew plays The Dropkick Murphys' "I'm Shipping Up to Boston" to fire up the crowd just before kickoff.

The song, popularized in the 2006 movie The Departed and a staple of rowdy bars every St. Patrick's Day, and of course, in Boston, is one of several new musical pieces said to be in EA Sports College Football 26 to make the rituals with Notre Dame football and teams like Virginia Tech’s “Enter Sandman” more like real life.
