FSU apologist doesn't have Notre Dame football among Top 12 teams
The Notre Dame football team took a big leap in the AP and coaches poll this week. It looks like they’re very solidly going to be in the playoffs. Most people have been impressed by the way the Irish played recently. And some are even more impressed that Texas A&M is looking like a playoff contender since they were knocked off in Week 1.
There is however, one analyst who isn’t all that impressed by the Irish being 7-1 and ranked No. 8 in the country. Danny Kannell, who loves to tout himself as someone as not having “brand bias” put out his own Top 12 and ND wasn’t on it.
Perhaps the funniest thing about Kannell pretending he doesn’t have brand bias, is that he spent a ton of his time on social media last year “keeping receipts” from people who thought that Florida State wasn’t all that good. Notre Dame football fans are among several thousand that have had fun pointing out the Seminoles 2024 season.
Notre Dame football not on list that Texas A&M is on
“The only ranking that ignores the brand bias … “ Kannel wrote on Twitter. “Brand new #DKtop12 after Week 9.” That list shaped up like this:
- Oregon
- Penn
- Miami
- BYU
- Indiana
- Georgia
- Clemson
- Pitt
- Iowa State
- Ohio State
- Texas A&M
- Texas
Yep. Texas A&M is not only on the list, but they’re ranked No. 11 while the team that beat them in Week 1 is not on the list at all.
It feels like someone needs to point out that brand bias isn’t just favoring a team over others (like he does with Florida State) but also applies to not ranking a team like Notre Dame football just because you don’t like them.
