Jeremiyah Love has cemented himself as a legend at Notre Dame as one of the greatest players in program history and undeniably the greatest running back the Fighting Irish have ever had.
Ahead of Love and the Irish's final home game of the regular season, the star joined ESPN's Scott Van Pelt on SportsCenter. During the segment, Van Pelt asked Love if this would be his last game at Notre Dame Stadium. Love's answer was perfect.
"Hopefully this isn't our last go around in Notre Dame Stadium, but if it is, I'll remember the fans and the people that I did it with," Love said.
Will Jeremiyah Love return next season?
As a junior, Love could return next year to play another season for the Fighting Irish. However, as one of the best players in the country, the odds of him opting out of his senior year and declaring for the 2026 NFL Draft are extremely high.
So, while Van Pelt was asking about this season, fans easily could have interpreted Love's response as a hint that he would be back next season.
Yet, the Fighting Irish shouldn't get their hopes up quite yet. Love was most likely referring to the fact that Notre Dame is primed to host a College Football Playoff first-round game in South Bend.
With just two games left in the regular season, the Fighting Irish are 8-2 overall and only have unranked matchups remaining: their home matchup against the Syracuse Orange and the road game against the Stanford Cardinal.
If Notre Dame wins out, which the team is expected to do, Love and head coach Marcus Freeman would likely host a postseason game, meaning that the legendary running back would get one more appearance at home.
This Saturday, the No. 9 Fighting Irish and the Orange are scheduled to kick off from Notre Dame Stadium at 3:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be aired on NBC and Peacock.
