The United States has won its fourth consecutive FIBA U19 World Cup, and that means that Notre Dame Fighting Irish women's basketball head coach Niele Ivey has her second gold medal as an assistant on the team.
Last summer, Ivey earned her first gold medal with USA Basketball, as she served as an assistant coach for the 2024 FIBA U18 AmeriCup in Colombia. She was also a court coach at the 2023 USA Women's U19 National Team trials. All of this is nice prep for Ivey, who faces a make-or-break season in South Bend after losing quite a bit of talent off a team that was viewed as underachieving in the NCAA Tournament last winter.
Jaden Greathouse & Malachi Fields 'set to dominate,' says analyst
As the Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team gets ready for fall camp in just a few weeks, there are all sorts of players who are expected to make an impact.
One analyst picked out wide receivers Jaden Greathouse and Malachi Fields as two of the 50 wideouts in the entire country that are set to dominate this fall. It's yet another indicator that things could be even better than most people expect when the dust settles and the Fighting Irish settle on an offense.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish hockey set to take next step
As the Irish enter a new era of hockey with a new head coach in Brock Sheahan, the team is also taking another step into truly embracing the sport with a full non-conference slate for the first time.
Notre Dame opens at Arizona State as part of the Icebreaker Tournament. Then they take on St. Lawrence, Robert Morris, Merrimack, Boston College, and Western Michigan before things really get rolling.
Former captain Ade Ogundeji calls it a career
A former captain for the Notre Dame football team has decided he'll do something besides play football this fall. Just ahead of training camps getting set to open this week, Ade Ogundeji announced his retirement on Sunday.
Ogundeji started off looking like he might be a top defender for the Atlanta Falcons, but his career flamed out quickly. After being released by the Pittsburgh Steelers last fall, the defensive lineman has decided not to try to hook on with a team for the 2025 campaign.
CJ Carr is a Heisman Dark Horse
When On3 analysts Andy Staples and Ari Wasserman were recently discussing Heisman Dark Horse candidates, the two arrived at an interesting name. Staples believes that quarterback CJ Carr, who still has to win the starting QB job, could end up in New York later this year.
Staples believes that Carr is good enough and will have a good enough Notre Dame Fighting Irish supporting cast that he could be one of the Heisman finalists, if not the outright winner, in his first season as a starter.
