There was a time when Guerby Lambert was a big part of the Notre Dame Fighting irish’s plans in the spring. He was looking like someone who could be moved all over the field to make the offensive line as good as possible.
And then, he suffered an injury that made his spring practice session incredibly short. Lambert had shoulder surgery to repair a labrum that will keep him out until at least the fall. On Monday morning, he made his first statement on the injury.
Guerby Lambert showing strength in the face of injury
It’s never great news when you hear about a player needing to miss months of playing time. However, Notre Dame Fighting Irish head coach Marcus Freeman made it clear that the coaching staff expects the offensive lineman back in the fall.
Lambert, for his part, is taking all of this news in stride. He took to social media on Monday with a post reading:
"Everything happens according to God’s plan. Sometimes God allow us to endure some pain to either make us stronger or prevent us from an unbearable experience. We trust God, and our God is faithful!"
It’s clear that he’s only going to worry about what he can control. As always, that a great message for everyone.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish lacrosse loses again
It hasn’t been the kind of season that Notre Dame is used to in 2025. Over the weekend, the Golden Domers lost their third game of the regular season. This time, the defeat came to No. 7 Syracuse, and it was a fairly sound defeat, 14-9.
The Lacrosse squad is now 5-3 on the year, the worst record it’s posted since the 2022 campaign when they went 8-4. In the past two seasons, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish lost a grand total of three games, going 14-2 in 2023 and 16-1 in 2024.
Baseball sinking to sub-.500
Less than a week after a prominent member of the media called Irish baseball coach Shawn Sitffler’s tenure in South Bend a “limp failure,” his squad couldn’t really get his back.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish baseball team dropped two of three over the weekend to the Virginia Tech Hokies and are now just 15-14 on the season and 3-12 in the ACC. Stiffler’s squad is now dead last in the conference by two full games over a Boston College team that’s lost five in a row.
