The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lacrosse team’s dreams of winning three straight National Championships is offiically dead. And the dream ended in the most painful way possible.

For a while, it looked like they would continue a run to the Final Four on Sunday. They started their game against Penn State with a 12-6 lead but then something just … fell apart.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish allowed eight straight goals to the Nittany Lions, ending their season. It was still a heck of a run for the Golden Domers. But there were signs all season long that this team simply didn’t have the same makeup as the last two. It’s all about starting over next year.

Notre Dame Fighting Irish don’t get much love in newcomer rankings

ESPN recently put together a list of teams that have the best newcomer classes ahead of the 2025 season. Oddly enough, despite a decent portal haul and a very good recruiting class, the Fighting Irish only made it to No. 22 on the list. That seems like a ridiculously low number.

Hosting a big quarterback prospect

Notre Dame is rolling recruiting wise and now Marcus Freeman and company are taking aim at one of the best quarterbacks in the 2027 class. Hank Hendrix will be in South Bend on Wednesday and the coaching staff will work hard to convince him that’s where he needs to spend his college years.

Notre Dame baseball has a shot at the regionals

The ACC baseball tournament begins this week and the Notre Dame Fighting Irish are in decent shape for a postseason bid, assuming they show anything at all in the conference tourney. According to Matt Freeman, the Shawn Stiffler’s crew is slated to be a No. 3 seed and D1Baseball.com has them in the Oregon regional alongside the Ducks, Kansas State, and Nevada.
