The Notre Dame Fighting Irish football team remains on quite a hot streak regarding recruiting. The hot streak continues despite the commitments slowing up since May. The Blue and Gold are in good standing with several prospects close to pulling the trigger, including 3-star wide receiver Kohen Brown.
At the end of May, Brown announced the final 8 teams he’s considering, and Freeman’s squad was among the finalists. In addition to the Irish, Brown named Texas, Ole Miss, Utah, Colorado, SMU, Illinois, and Baylor.
Brown has scheduled official visits with the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Texas, Ole Miss, & Utah. He’ll be in South Bend on June 13, he finished his visit to Utah on May 30, is headed to Texas on June 6, and then to Ole Miss on June 20.
Notre Dame Fighting Irish hosting QB Malachi Zeigler on Friday
4-star 2027 quarterback prospect Malachi Zeigler could be the next big Irish quarterback target. He might cement that when he comes to South Bend on June 6.
Zeigler is the No. 96 player and No. 9 QB per the On3 Industry Ranking. This unofficial visit will be a big step in the right direction for Notre Dame as it looks to keep the train rolling when it comes to landing some of the best quarterback prospects in the country.
Notre Dame schedule might be even tougher than first thought
The Irish schedule was already tough, especially with an opener against Miami and then a Week 2 against Texas A&M. However, now things ramped up a bit with CBS Sports saying the two teams might be making the playoffs.
Should both squads make it, they would be first-time CFP contenders. All the talk about the Notre Dame Fighting Irish having weak schedules has long been false. The 2025 slate is more proof that Marcus Freeman and company are scared of no one.
