Former Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jadarian Price has had some hiccups in his rookie campaign with the Seattle Seahawks. Those hiccups include coaches not knowing how to use him or get him carries when he could be most effective, as well as missing four weeks on the IR with a chest injury.
Price got some good news earlier this week when the Seahawks activated him from the IR and the first-round pick returned to practice. Head coach Mike McDonald said Price could appear in Monday night's game against the Chicago Bears, though how much he'll play, if that happens, is still anyone's guess and depends on how he bounces back in regular practice.
Price has appeared in three games for the Seahawks so far this year. He has 119 yards rushing on 28 carries but no touchdowns. Perhaps as a statement on the health of the Seahawks' running game (or lack thereof), Price is still the team's second-leading rusher. Emmanuel Wilson leads the team with 403 yards (3.6 YPC) and 3 touchdowns.
Jonaz Walton gets 1st-round NFL Draft prediction
Earlier this week, 247Sports and NFL Draft analyst Mike Renner spoke with Notre Dame Fighting Irish beat writer Drew Mentock about freshman running back Jonaz Walton's ceiling in South Bend. Renner said Walton still has some growing up to do, but he compared him to former Georgia Bulldog and NFL star Nick Chubb and said Walton could eventually be a first-round pick.
"I've seen the comps to Nick Chubb, and that's what Nick Chubb looked like as a true freshman at Georgia. Just a guy who really didn't have great feel yet for the running back position, but you couldn't tackle him. And if he was out in open space, he was going to run by everyone. That's kind of Jonaz right now."
Mel Kiper loves the Notre Dame Fighting Irish
ESPN analyst Mel Kiper recently put together his comprehensive 2027 NFL Draft Big Board where he not only predicts the first round but lays out the Top 5 players at each position. Five Notre Dame stars made the list:
- CJ Carr (No .4 QB)
- Anthonie Knapp (No. 2 interior offensive lineman)
- Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (No. 2 linebacker)
- Leonard Moore (No. 1 cornerback)
- Brauntae Johnson (No. 1 safety)
Johnson is the most interesting name on the list, considering he's missed all but the first half of Notre Dame's season opener against Wisconsin so far this season.
Abraham Sesay gets a visit from Notre Dame coaches
Notre Dame Fighting Irish 5-star commit Abraham Sesay is locked in with Marcus Freeman and Co. but that doesn't mean the staff is taking him for granted. During the bye week, Freeman and defensive line coach Charlie Partridge visited Sesay at his high school, and Partridge stayed to watch his game. That kind of personal touch struck a chord with the Blue Chip prospect.
“It means so much,” Sesay told On3 analyst Mike Singer recently. “My night was ended early due to a minor injury, but for (Partridge) to continue to stay and watch is incredible.”
Notre Dame vs. Miami tickets continue to be insane
Earlier this week, tickets for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish game were reported on secondary sites like StubHub at insane prices, with the top ticket going for over $13,000 and the lowest around $800. While some of the most expensive tickets have dropped, it will still cost an arm and a leg to get in if you don't already have a ticket.
