Notre Dame Fighting Irish News: Blue Chip draft prospect, turn around wins, more

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish had quite the successful weekend with several teams getting off the snide.

The 2025 season was a frustrating one for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish Lacrosse team. However, the Golden Domers are expected to make a run back to glory, and they started strong on Valentine's Day.

The Irish opened the new lacrosse season with a 16-11 win, logging its 24th consecutive season-opening win. Both Matt Jeffery and Teddy Lally finished with three points off two goals and an assist, while Will Maheras and Jalen Seymour each found the back of the net twice from the midfield position. Second-year starter Jeffery Ricciardelli finished with 12 saves while allowing 11 goals for a .522 save percentage in the win.

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish lacrosse will next face off against Bellarmine on Tuesday afternoon at 3 pm.

Notre Dame women's lacrosse stays undefeated against Boston College

The men's lacrosse team isn't the only one that had success this weekend. The women's lacrosse team improved to 3-0 on the new season with a 12-9 win over No. 3 Boston College. Now, not only is ND 3-0, but they've got two wins against Top 15 teams. Their only game against an unranked team was a 25-0 victory over Central Michigan.

One month ago, Florida State hired Shaun Shivers as its assistant running backs coach. On Saturday, Marcus Freeman and his crew stole him away to be their assistant wide receiver coach. Shivers, who played his college ball at Indiana, returns to the Hoosier State to help Mike Brown continue to develop a talented bunch.

Cole Certa leads Notre Dame basketball to a big victory over Georgia Tech

No Jalen Haralson, no Markus Burton, no problem. Not when the Fighting Irish had Cole Certa scoring a career high 37 points over the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. Notre Dame (12-14, 3-10) picked up a pivotal 89-74 victory in their bid to make the ACC Tournament, jumping out of the conference basement over GT (11-15, 2-11).

Notre Dame hockey scores rare victory over Minnesota

It's been an absolutely miserable year for the Irish Hockey team. Still, they did manage to rally to get a victory Saturday night over the Minnesota Golden Gophers, 3-2, behind a late third-period goal by Danny Nelson. The Irish scored two unanswered goals to storm back and clinch the victory after trailing the contest, 2-1, halfway through the third. ND improves to 6-20-1 on the year.

Notre Dame baseball bounces back against FAU
