The Notre Dame football team has its 2026 class locked down and is now focusing on the 2027 cycle. Chief among those targets is Amarri Irvin, a 4-star linebacker out of IMG Academy in Miami, Florida.

The prospect's father is Sedrick Irvin Sr., a former Michigan State running back who spent a few years in the NFL in the early 2000s. So, check the NFL legacy box. Meanwhile, his older brother is Sedrick Irvin Jr., who was committed to the Irish in the 2023 class. The elder Irvin ended up going to Stanford, where he still plays, but it appears there's still some connection between the family and the Blue and Gold. He's also related to famed wide receiver, Michael Irvin.

Notre Dame football hosting Amarri Irvin for key visit

Irvin is scheduled to visit Notre Dame this weekend. He's also reportedly got a very strong connection with both head coach Marcus Freeman and linebackers coach Max Bullough. And it's for these reasons that On3 analyst Mike Singer has put in an official prediction for the Irish to get a commitment from Amarri Irvin eventually.

That doesn't mean things are going to be easy. Among the schools that are hot on the linebacker's heels is Florida State, which is pulling out all the stops. Defensive coordinator Tony White and linebackers coach John Papuchis have both set up a relationship with Irvin, making the Seminoles one of the significant roadblocks toward getting his commitment anytime soon. Miami and Florida are also in the mix.

Singer has added that this is one of his long-shot predictions. However, he believes in the end, the Notre Dame football team can land the 4-star linebacker and add Amarri Irvin to a growing list of blue-chip commitments.
