The Arizona Cardinals took quite a bit of heat for selecting former Notre Dame football star Jeremiyah Love in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft. While one of the worst historical teams in the league deserved some of that heat, it looks at least like the franchise is making sure one of its biggest offensive weapons has some help. On Friday night, the Cards used their 2nd round pick to take Texas A&M offensive lineman Chase Bisontis.
Bisontis is certainly one of the best offensive linemen in the draft. While playing for the Aggies, he took 766 snaps and didn't allow a single sack. Among those who was convinced Bisontis would transition to a top college player once he came out of high school was Rivals' analyst Tim Verghese.
Jeremiyah Love gets someone to plow the road for him after Notre Dame football
The analyst believes Jeremiyah Love might indeed have a road grader that is right in line with the guys he played with at Notre Dame:
"Standing 6-foot-4.5, 315 pounds, Bisontis plays with good leverage and possesses nimble feet for his size. Possesses good bend and balance and plays with great technique. Has a violent first punch and plays through the whistle, but not the point that he draws unnecessary penalties. The four-star has ample athleticism to play anywhere on the offensive line, but his wingspan likely limits his future at offensive tackle."
"Needs to work on more consistent hand placement and staying within his base without oversetting. Natural aggressiveness is an offensive line coach’s dream, but will need to stay disciplined to avoid drawing penalties at the next level."
Jeremiyah Love has a new blocker with the Arizona Cardinals in Chase Bisontis
Considering the offensive line was definitely one of the spots that the Cardinals needed to upgrade in this draft, Love has to like this pick.
The former Notre Dame star is getting paid; that was never in doubt. Now, Jeremiyah Love is seeing his new team really invest in making his transition to the NFL as easy as possible.
