With the NFL Draft just a few weeks away now, Notre Dame football players are wondering just where they might end up. The added degree of difficulty is that many of them have been getting moved all over the map. None more than Benjamin Morrison who has seen his stock hit first round value and then drop all the way to the third or fourth round on occasion.
The latest Mock Draft from FalconsWire shows that the Notre Dame defensive back has risen back up in the rankings a bit. The former Irish defender isn’t going in the first round, but he has seen his stock rise back closer to where he was before he got hurt in 2024 and missed most of the season.
FalconsWire took its Mock Draft report from Mel Kiper who has been a bit up and down on Morrison but seems to think he’s back to being one of the best defensive backs in the draft class. He now has the Notre Dame football star going early in the second round to the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 46 pick.
Where will Notre Dame football’s former standout DB land?
“Morrison looked like a first-rounder early in the 2024 season, before a hip injury ended his campaign,” Kiper wrote. “He's an extremely talented press corner with good technique. Opponents completed passes at will against Atlanta last season; the Falcons' 69.9% completion percentage against was bottom of the league. To help fix the problem, Morrison could take away receivers as the CB2 opposite A.J. Terrell. Plus, with nine career picks, he has the ball skills to create turnovers.”
It would be hard for the former Notre Dame football star to be unhappy with going that early in the second round. Especially to a team that has the horses to be better than they were in 2024.
