College football fans should take note from last year’s run by Notre Dame, it was no luck of the Fighting Irish. The Blue and Gold gave us a preview of what to expect moving forward as long as head coach Marcus Freeman is running the show. The program had one of it’s most successful seasons last year that include a run at the National Championship, but they ran into a powerful Ohio State team that had a lot of NFL talent.

Notre Dame is loading back up for this upcoming fall and they have a favorable schedule along with some key returning talented players. We always hear about teams like Georgia and Ohio State being the top programs in college football, which they obviously are but there are other teams out there like the Irish who deserve to be given their flowers as well.

The good news for Fighting Irish fans is that there is someone who is a believer in Notre Dame for not just 2025, but for the future as well. J.D. PicKell from The Hard Count talked about the future of Notre Dame football and how he finds it hard to believe that they are not considered a powerhouse.

Notre Dame football is set up to be a powerhouse for the long haul

When you look at what Notre Dame managed to do last season, and look at the opponents that they took down, how could you not think that the program isn’t building itself up to be one of, if not the best across the land? Just like PicKell said, they have a top head coach, the talent on the field, and can show that they develop nicely to get drafted into the NFL.

Obviously they need to show that they dominate year-in and year-out but last year was a fantastic start to show that Notre Dame is not going anywhere anytime soon, especially since they extended Freeman’s contract.

Late August can’t come soon enough as Notre Dame football will be beginning their 2025 season in Miami, and that’s where the whole country will be able to see just how much of a powerhouse they will become this season and for the long haul.
