The Notre Dame football team has had some serious issues recruiting receivers this class. That point really can’t be debated. However, with one of the targets they lost out on starting to get a roving eye,
Is it possible the Derek Meadows might look back towards South Bend from Baton Rouge? The answer to that question right now is almost certainly no. It’s in fact likely that the Irish have moved on and aren’t really talking to him that much anymore. But stranger things have happened.
So why might Notre Dame have another shot at the 4-star wide receiver prospect? Because there are reports the Bishop Gorman stud is looking at taking a visit to see the Michigan Wolverines. That despite him still committed to LSU.
Former Notre Dame football WR target on the move?
Tom Loy reported earlier on Saturday that Meadows is in Ann Arbor for the Wolverines game against Ann Arbor.
“As I reported yesterday would be the case…I’m told that Top 100 receiver and LSU commit Derek Meadows is visiting Michigan today for the game vs. Oregon.Big-time talent checking out Ann Arbor.”
Meadows has been solid to LSU since making his commitment in July, but now he seems to have a wandering eye, like many other prospects that have shown interest in U-M lately.
The question Notre Dame football fans have to ask is that if Meadows is indeed starting to look around again, can the Irish get back into the mix? Would they want to? It’s not long until signing day but things are looking fluid.
