Notre Dame football expecting good news on Jeremiyah Love for the playoffs
Since the end of Notre Dame football’s win over USC, there has been one question above all others. Even about “what seed will the Fighting Irish get?”
That question i, “just how badly hurt was Jeremiyah Love on Saturday?
The star Notre Dame football running back suffered an apparent leg injury against the Trojans and wasn’t able to finish the game after a spectacular start. In the wake of the contest, head coach Marcus Freeman didn’t offer any answers on his status. However, the rumblings around South Bend is that Love expects to be ready to go by the playoffs.
Notre Dame football optimistic about Jeremiyah Love
One good sign for Love’s speedy recovery is that his injury might not have been to the knee as previously thought. It’s possible that it was to his calf, or even his shin. While a calf injury on its face would still be plenty bad, he was spotted walking on the leg with a wrap under his knee.
Walking at all on that would seem to indicate it was more of a strain than anything else.
There’s also the little tidbit that the Irish running back posted on social media earlier on Monday. “There are 3 things certain in life,” Love wrote on his Instagram account. “Death, taxes, Jlove TD”
It seems unlikely the running back would be in a jovial sort of mood if he’d just been told he had a serious injury that will keep him out of the playoffs.
The final idea behind the Notre Dame football team getting its star running back to return for the playoffs is that the Irish get some serious rest time. With no conference championship to worry about, they’ll get about 3 weeks to rest and rehab. That should be plenty of time for Jeremiyah Love to return from injury if its not a serious one.
