If you’re someone who thinks school pride ends for players once they leave and head off to their chosen profession, even the NFL, the you’re definitely mistaken. At least when it comes to former Notre Dame football star Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah.

Earlier this week, he expressed a rather hilarious take on where his brother Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng decided to attend college. And he did it without directly addressing his brother. But everyone knew exactly what he was referring to in a social media post.

Owusu-Koramoah took to Twitter not long after his young brother signed with the Michigan Wolverines and he wanted everyone to know he understood what they were all thinking. “Ik ik ik,” the former Notre Dame football star wrote, meaning “I know, I know, I know.”

Notre Dame football loses out on legacy prospect to rival

Irish fans could almost see the former Blue and Gold defender shaking his head as he wrote it. And not for his lack of trying. Owusu-Boaten took several trips to South Bend in the last year in no small part because his brother set such a standard for the Irish.

Instead, the young brother decided he wanted to go one of the most hated Irish rivals, even if th two teams don’t meet each other every year on the field anymore.

The good news here is that unless something drastically changes, or the two teams face off in the playoffs in the next few years, Notre Dame football won’t have to play against the legacy prospect. The Irish and Michigan aren’t scheduled to renew their rivalry until 2033.
