When the Notre Dame football team landed tight end prospect Ian Premer, it was clear that Marcus Freeman pulled off quite the coup, but one recruiting analyst is underlining just how good Premer could be.
Rivals and On3 recruiting analyst Cody Bellaire recently talked to Blue and Gold writer Mike Singer about what he's seen from Premer. Right at the top of the list of superlatives, such as how the tight end moves much better than most players at his position.

"When you look at tight ends that have been drafted highly recently, Premers got it," Bellaire said about the Notre Dame football commit. "From a size perspective, he's nearly 6-foot-5, 230 pounds with quality length. I think he's got 33-inch arms, which is great for the tight end position."
"He plays both ways for his high school," the analyst continued. "He returns punts and kicks. I mean, he's got a multi-sport background. And if you haven't watched this guy play basketball, I highly recommend you look up Ian Premers' basketball reel because it is extremely fun to watch."
"umans his size are not supposed to move like receivers that are five inches shorter and 40 pounds lighter than him. He's explosive. He's bouncy. He's fluid. He catches the ball away from his frame so well. I mean, he has every opportunity as a senior, I think, to become the top tight end in the cycle, to be honest with you."
The Notre Dame football team was already plenty happy to add Ian Premer to the 2026 recruiting class. If he takes another step forward in his senior year of high school, one of the best players in the country will be playing at South Bend next season.
