The Notre Dame football team is on quite a heater to open May, and a recent prediction for the Irish to land a talented receiver means it could keep going for quite a while.
3-star Littleton (Co.) Valor Christian wide receiver Jackson Coleman is a high-upside relative unknown in the 2027 class who suddenly has a ton of predictions that he'll land in South Bend. The Fighting Irish received four predictions to land the commitment of Coleman from Rivals analysts on Friday.
Jackson Coleman momentum has Notre Dame football surging in another 2027 receiver race
Steve Wiltfong, Brandon Huffman, Adam Gorney, and Greg Biggins all entered predictions for Notre Dame to score the wide receiver on Friday. That looks to be a bit of a swing, as Northwestern was considered the frontrunner for the No. 4 player in the state of Colorado until Friday.
Coleman is considered a 3-star player by all major recruiting platforms. On the 247 Sports Composite ranking, he currently rates as the No. 822 overall player, the No. 102 wide receiver, and the No. 4 player from the state of Colorado in the 2027 recruiting class. Rivals has him as the No. 886 player in the class and No. 125 wide receiver. He's also considered the 4th-best player in the state.
Jackson Coleman gives Notre Dame football a high-upside receiver target with rising buzz
Odds are that those rankings will begin to rise now that Notre Dame is in the mix. Even before Marcus Freeman and Co. came calling, the wide receiver has a strong offer list. Oregon, Michigan, Miami, Missouri, Colorado, Utah, Vanderbilt, Kansas State, Minnesota, Stanford, Cal, Northwestern, Oregon State, Washington State, Syracuse, and Purdue, among others are all vying for Coleman's services.
It's not a surprise that schools are coming calling en masse after Coleman put together a tremendous junior season in 2025. In 13 games, the 6-3, 195-pound pass catcher managed to haul in 45 receptions for 975 yards and nine touchdowns, an average of 21.7 yards per reception. His combination of size, length, and long speed are all reasons why his profile should only increase heading into the fall.
Considering how many experts have predicted Notre Dame to land Jackson Coleman, it seems likely his commitment is coming sooner rather than later. And when he does, it will continue Notre Dame's hot streak that kicked off in May.
