Jadarian Price impressed the Seattle Seahawks with more than just his talent

Jadarian Price has a real chance to be a starting running back in the NFL. He's got the skillset that allowed him to be a first-round pick and make history alongside former teammate-turned-NFC West rival, Jeremiyah Love. However, when the Seattle Seahawks took Price with the final pick on Friday, the front office made it clear that Price's talent on the field is just part of the reason they wanted him on their roster. His personality was a big part as well.

“You just learn about the person, about the leadership, the resiliency, the humility,” Seattle head coach Mike Macdonald told the media in his post-draft press conference. “I mean, just the commitment to Notre Dame by staying there. Loyalty. It’s like his family story, all those things. It’s a cool story, someone that you get excited about, you love talking to and you can envision him just sticking out here. You can feel him in the building and feel like he's one of us.”

Seattle like the person inside of Jadarian Price as much as the Notre Dame football talent

The Notre Dame prospect knew that he had a chance to go to Seattle. There were plenty of NFL Mock Drafts that had him possibly going in the first round, and if he did, the Seahawks were the team to take him. On Thursday, it was all about waiting and seeing if it happened.

“You hear a lot of things and me being the person I am, I try not to listen to all the noise and the media and NFL Network and everything,” Price explained after he was picked. “I knew that Seattle was pretty interested in me."

Jadarian Price had an idea where his post Notre Dame days would be spent

"They knew the type of player I was, what I bring to the program, and I didn't know what exactly was going to happen. I'm so blessed to be in this position and be picked by the Seattle Seahawks.”

Now Price and Love can sit back, knowing they've found their new teams and wait and watch to see what other Notre Dame players will join the NFL over the next few days.
