One day after the Notre Dame football team delivered the worst news possible for running back Kedren Young and tight end Kevin Bauman, the ninth practice of fall camp offered some excellent news for wide receiver Jaden Greathouse.

That good news was that Greathouse, who every analyst in the country believes is set for a breakout season, was back at practice. Notre Dame fans the world over can now breathe a sigh of relief after spending the last few days wondering if the wideout was about to miss significant time with some injury.

Notre Dame football: Jaden Greathouse returns to practice without restrictions

Talk that Jaden Greathouse was injured surfaced earlier this week when he missed a Notre Dame football practice. While reports were that it wasn't expected to be serious, considering it came in tandem with whispers of the Young and Bauman injuries, there were plenty of fans who started to nibble on their fingernails with anxiety.

Greathouse's return to practice on Sunday was seemingly without restriction, and he wasn't wearing a non-contact jersey, so while there still hasn't been any confirmation on what the issue was, it doesn't appear it was severe at all. That's fantastic news for an offense that enters the 2025 season with a wide receiver corps it believes can be the best it's seen in quite some time.

Greathouse will partner with transfer receivers Malachi Fields and Will Pauling, as well as Jordan Faison and relative newcomer Cam Williams (who is getting a ton of mention in camp so far), and try to lead an offense geared more towards an air attack than when Riley Leonard was at the helm.

Greathouse broke out in the playoffs last year and showed flashes that the Notre Dame football experts expect him to build on this year. Of course, to do that, he'll need to stay healthy the rest of the way.
