Former Notre Dame football cornerback Jaden Mickey has finally found his new home. The ex-Fighting Irish star has been looking for a landing spot since October, but finally picked the perfect team. Perhaps he even used the Calgorithm to determine where he should go.
Mickey redshirted in the midst of his junior year for the Fighting Irish, appearing in 28 games in his career with the Blue and Gold. Those numbers included the first four games of the 2024 season. He made three starts between his freshman and sophomore seasons in South Bend, and ended his time in South Bend having accumulated 23 tackles, four defended passes, and an interception he returned for a 43-yard touchdown.
The Notre Dame football player was clearly still loyal to the program and his teammates even after he officially announced his intention to transfer. He’s going for a degree in South Bend and was spotted celebrating with his former teammates after one big win. Now he’s officially a part of a new program has he’s reportedly signed with the Cal Golden Bears.

Moving forward, Mickey obviously hopes to become a big piece of the puzzle and a starter for the Golden Bears.
He joins a program still learning about its new conference, but California had quite a bit of success during their first season in the ACC. It would seem that the addition of Jaden Mickey will only help their cause in 2025.
Interestingly enough, Mickey will join former Tyson Ford, who announced he was leaving the Notre Dame football program and joining California earlier this winter.
