Notre Dame football commit Joey O’Brien might have his brightest future on the defensive side of the ball, but that doesnt’ mean he doesn’t have a ton of talent on the offensive side. This weekend, O’Brien showed that until he lands in South Bend officially, he’s still a very good two-way player. The Irish pledge showed off his skills at the OT7 Playoffs.
The wide receiver/cornerback caught a touchdown for Level82 against Midwest Boom in the OT7 playoffs -- and Fighting Irish fans are starting to dream about what he can do.

It should be noted that the five-star recruit was playing in a game without offensive or defensive lines. Passing is a lot easier when the quarterback doesn't face a pass rush, obviously. And yet, O’Brien represented the Notre Dame football program quite well. He certainly showed why Marcus Freeman and company were overjoyed when the best player in Pennsylvania gave them his pledge.

The play that O’Brien showed out in was a short pass from about the 5-yard line. While that didn’t make it all that difficultl, O'Brien showed speed and route-running ability when he made the catch.
O’Brien is just one of several commits the Notre Dame football team has managed to score in the last few weeks. While he’s showing off his talent on the offensive side of the ball, he’s expected to be one of the best defensive backs in the country. The Irish will look to get their offense from any one of several wide receivers expected to commit to Freeman’s program next month.
