Notre Dame football's latest attempt to flip a prospect already committed to the Texas Longhorns shows Marcus Freeman is looking to get Greedy. Freeman is looking to get Greedy James to be more precise.
Karnell "Greedy" James committed to Steve Sarkisian and the Longhorns back in December. However, the 3-star defensive back appears to wonder if the grass might be greener elsewhere. The Fighting Irish are attempting to convince him the grass is very green indeed in South Bend this weekend.
Rivals analyst Mike Singer was the first to report that Greedy James is checking out Notre Dame up close and personal this weekend on an unofficial visit. In the process, the Fighting Irish are trying to flip a prospect whose ranking numbers aren't eye popping. However, he's clearly quite talented considering the power programs still pursuing him, including the SEC power.

Karnell 'Greedy' James gives Notre Dame a real shot at a Texas flip
James is listed as the 59th best safety in the class, and 629th overall player according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. However, not only have Texas and Notre Dame are engaged in recruiting war, but Arizona State, Baylor, Florida, Missouri, Kentucky, Texas A&M, and LSU also extended offers to the Manvel (Manvel, TX) player.
While starring at Marvel High, James was a human highlight reel. He recorded 31 tackles, including five for a loss. He added one interception and seven pass breakups to his resume. Due to his play, James saw his stock skyrocket, and some of the top programs in the nation came calling.
Notre Dame likely feels empowered to go after some commits to other programs after one of its own top prospects, Ace Alston announced he was shutting down his recruitment. Marcus Freeman will put on the full court press this weekend and a switch in allegiances is far from out of the question.
