When discussing high-level recruiting, every school has to worry about players who have just committed to them deciding to flip later on. Notre Dame football is no different in that regard.
However, Marcus Freeman and company won't need to worry about Khary Adams. The 4-star defensive back might be one of the newest Fighting Irish commitments, but he recently made it clear he's here for the long haul.
Adams isn't discussing flipping with recruiting analysts. This wasn't a private conversation. Instead, the Notre Dame football commit let it be known on social media he's not looking for greener pastures. He put a stop to any talk of him switching allegiances.
Notre Dame football commit Khary Adams rebuffs flip speculation with one-word reply
— Khary Adams (@KharyAdams6) July 5, 2025
He was given the opportunity to make it clear he's sticking with the Irish when rival school Michigan saw one of its own defensive back commits flip to another team. A Wolverines fan then posted, "Watchout Khary Adams, annual ND flip? Haha."
The tweet got back to the 4-star prospect as he very quickly quoted the post and responded, "no."
Obviously, there's a way to go until signing day. Suppose Michigan decides to target Adams and pursue him aggressively. In that case, it's not unreasonable to be afraid Notre Dame might have a real fight on its hands.
But when a player comes out on social media like this for all the world to see, it's clear that, for now at least, he's as locked in as locked in can be. When you consider the moral backbone so many of the Notre Dame football commits have in this class, taking Khary Adams at his word is the right approach.
