If there was one area that was most disappointing for the Notre Dame football team in their loss to Miami in Week 1, it was the offensive line. A unit that was expected to be one of the best in the country had an awful Sunday night against the Hurricanes. That's one reason why the Fighting Irish still haven't settled on an essential position in the unit.

Addressing the media on Monday afternoon, Marcus Freeman talked quite a bit about the offensive line and how the coaches are working to fix it. In the process, he said that with Charles Jagusah still out with injury, players will share time and rotate for most of the game against Texas A&M.

Freeman said that in Week 3, the Notre Dame football team will see a "slash" starter between Guerby Lambert and Sullivan Absher at right guard. In the meantime, Jagusah is still working behind the scenes to make both players better, according to Freeman.

Entering the game against the Texas A&M Aggies, there's little doubt that the Irish offensive line will be taxed. The defensive line will be one challenge, but it's a linebacker unit that can rack up sacks, which will be an added degree of difficulty.

Between Scooby Williams, Sam M'Pemba, and Cashius Howell, who combined for five sacks against Utah State, ND will have its hands full keeping rushers off CJ Carr.

If the Notre Dame football defensive line can return to the form that position coach Joe Rudolph and Co. expected when the season began, they should be able to win handily. If the Irish front struggles again, it could be a long night in South Bend.
