The Notre Dame football team started May on quite a recruiting heater. Having already reeled in four commits in the first four days of the month, the Fighting Irish appear to be on the edge of stealing yet another commitment away from Miami as Oluwasemilore Olubobola nears a decision.
Having announced the final three schools he's considering, the top player in New Jersey and a consensus Top 25 player in the entire 2027 class, the Hurricanes, as well as Penn State and his home-state Rutgers squad, appear to be grasping at straws as they try to hold on to Olubobola's attention.

Oluwasemilore Olubobola has Notre Dame football surging in another elite 2027 battle
Notre Dame, Miami, and Texas A&M are technically the final three schools considered in the running. However, recruiting analysts believe that the Fighting Irish have separated themselves. On Thursday afternoon, several insiders officially entered a prediction for Marcus Freeman to keep his May heater going.
Steve Wiltfong, Mike Singer and Chad Simmons all entered their predictions within an hour of each other. 247Sports's Brian Dohn also entered a Crystal Ball on Thursday morning. The speed with which those predictions came could also signal that the Irish are about to get an official announcement.
Oluwasemilore Olubobola fits what Notre Dame football wants in a high-upside tackle
The Big-framed offensive tackle with budding physicality and high upside has a high-cut build with plus length. Oluwasemilore Olubobola measured at 6-foot-6, 295 pounds, with a 7-foot-1 wingspan, before his senior season. However, he has also continued to fill out his frame over the last year or two.
As he enters his final season and gets ready to show programs like Notre Dame what he has to offer, there's an increased push to get him to commit before the senior high school season kicks off. With four players, all on offense, added to Marcus Freeman's class, the left tackle might decide to join the May party.
