While the Notre Dame football program is set at quarterback for the near future, the sporting world never stops and Marcus Freeman and his staff know they always have to be planning to go out and get quarterbacks for the near future even while they lock down the guys they’ll see next year and the year after.

To that end, the Fighting Irish are hosting a 2028 quarterback prospect that is young enough that there isn’t a ton of tape or scouting reports on him. Despite that, Treyvone Towns is getting plenty of attention from some of the most powerful schools in the country.

The Notre Dame football team is hoping to get a foot in the door for his recruitment by having him in South Bend for the Irish Invasion camp. This is routinely a place where Marcus Freeman and his staff have managed to make big inroads with very talented players who are still years away from being able to sign with any school.

The Oaks Christian (Los Angeles, CA) has already caught the attention of Arizona State, Penn State, Oregon State, Ohio State and Arkansas as far as official offers go. So far, Notre Dame hasn’t joined that list.

However, if Towns does impress at the camp, there’s a very safe bet he’ll leave town with a scholarship offer. Then it becomes a matter of keeping the pressure up.

With teams like the Buckeyes and Nittany Lions especially showing interest, it feels like this won’t just be a passing fancy for the Notre Dame football team. What happens after his trip to town this weekend will be very interesting.
