Notre Dame football has been on a tear in the 2027 recruiting class. The Irish have received several predictions for future commitments, though some of those have been sketchier than others. One that looks quite solid is the projection of running back Amir Brown to South Bend.

Brown was, up until very recently, was committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels. However, it appears that the circus that is taking place in Chapel Hill made the 4-star prospect decide it was time to look elsewhere. Not long after he decommitted, he booked a trip to several other schools.

Both Nebraska and Notre Dame are in line to get a visit from the Rolesville running back. However, only the Irish are now considered the favorite to land Amir Brown. Rivals' Sam Spiegelman is the latest analyst to put in a prediction for the rusher to be the next great back to play for the Blue and Gold.

In seven games this season, Brown showcased why he's one of the most coveted backs in the 2027 class while playing for Rolesville High School (NC). Rushing 102 times for 802 yards, Brown averaged a staggering 7.9 yards per carry and 114.6 yards per game. He broke the 100-yard mark four times and found the end zone 11 times, with a long run of 33 yards highlighting his burst and vision. The production speaks volumes, but it’s the consistency and efficiency that make Brown a true game-changer.

Across the past two seasons, Brown has emerged as one of the most productive backs in the 2027 class. In 2024, he racked up 612 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns on 93 carries, while adding 269 receiving yards and two scores on 15 catches.

With a visit set for this weekend to see Notre Dame football take on USC, he may commit on the spot. However, Amir Brown is slated to hit Nebraska the week after, so this fight could last longer than some expect.
