The Notre Dame football team is reportedly making a move for several top 2027 recruits, including defensive back Jailen Hill.
On3 analyst Mike Singer has made several official predictions this week for the Irish to get some huge commitments from Hill's class. The 4-star defensive back is just the latest prediction, though Singer has made it clear that Marcus Freeman and Co. still have their work cut out for them.
Notre Dame football gaining confidence in its pursuit of 4-star defensive back Jailen Hill
𝗡𝗘𝗪: My latest prediction is for Notre Dame to go into Southern California and land 2027 four-star cornerback Jailen Hill ‼️☘️

Texas A&M and USC are serious contenders, but I like the Irish to win out in this one.

Singer admitted earlier in the week that some of his Notre Dame predictions are longer shots than he's used to. However, he believes the Irish will "go into California" and get the John Bosco Prep player. He thinks the Irish will win the recruiting fight despite teams like Texas A&M and USC still being serious contenders.
Hill is considered the No. 12 player in California and the No. 13 defensive back in the 2027 class according to the Rivals Industry Rankings. He's also the No. 128 player in the entire cycle, according to that same database.
Hill visited South Bend in April and was back for the Texas A&M game. He's liked what he's seen every time he's taken a long look at Notre Dame.
Since those visits, Hill says he's continued to build relationships with secondary coach Mike Mickens, defensive analyst Jevaughn Codlin, and even head coach Marcus Freeman. "Just keeping that same relationship and just building it even more," he told Irish Sports Daily last month. "Getting them calls. Everything was great from talking to Coach Freeman, just everything. They've been keeping their words."
Being a 2027 recruit, there's some serious time until Jailen Hill can sign with the Notre Dame football team, or any other program. In the meantime, the Fighting Irish will look to get more visits and eventually an official visit before signing day next December.
