The Notre Dame football team has an important official visit weekend officially kicking off on Saturday, and while there aren’t a ton of names on the list, the names that are there are plenty important. Those names also raise quite a few questions about just what will transpire in South Bend over the next few days.

The Irish expect seven visitors to take in Touchdown Jesus and the rest, and none of them are low-impact players. One of those visitors, David Folorunsho, has already committed to Marcus Freeman and Co. He and committed long snapper Sean Kraft will be leaned on to do some peer recruiting, with the rest of the visitors still uncommitted and looking around.

In addition to Folorunsho and Kraft, Notre Dame is hosting edge Abraham Sesay, linebacker Roman Igwebuike, defensive lineman Brayden Parks, defensive lineman Tyler Anderson, and safety Greedy James. Those five are the real targets for the Irish this weekend as they look to wrap up their 2027 class. So, just what are the biggest storylines for the weekend?

Can Notre Dame lock it down with Abraham Sesay?

One of the biggest visitors this weekend is Sesay. The Irish are battling with Texas A&M and LSU for the 4-star defender, but there is at least one insider who believes the battle is pretty much over, and Marcus Freeman is the winner.

If Notre Dame really has managed to basically close out the race, they should be able to lock down Sesay this weekend with a commit no later than Sunday. If he is locked down, then the the past few days will have been a rousing success, even if he’s the only commit.

Is Greedy James the next successful flip for Notre Dame?

Karnell “Greedy” James has been a Texas commit since December, but almost immediately after pledging to the Longhorns, he’s had a bit of a wandering eye. This weekend, he’s wandered to South Bend, and there’s a chance Freeman and his staff could finally get him to flip to the Fighting Irish.

It won’t be an easy task. The No. 25 safety in the 2027 cycle is still considered a hard commit to Steve Sarkisian’s crew, even if he has been looking around. However, both Notre Dame and LSU have come on strong, and the plan to perhaps use James at both corner and safety seems to appeal to the Manvel, Texas prospect.

Tyler Alexander, Brayden Parks, or both for Notre Dame?

Notre Dame is hosting two very talented defensive linemen in Tyler Alexander and Brayden Parks. Of the two, Parks is the higher-ranked and more sought-after. Some analysts believe that if ND lands Parks, there won’t be room for Alexander.

Others believe Notre Dame wants them both quite badly. That they are both coming into town on the weekend certainly indicates they’re hoping they’ll convince each other that South Bend is where it’s at. So the big question from this weekend is, can Marcus Freeman and his staff land either this weekend or both? If they both leave town without committing, then things went a bit sideways.
