It’s that time of the year where yet another early All-America team was released this past week and the Notre Dame football team was once again well represented. The latest All-America team came from Athlon Sports

The way-too-early All-America team has three players on the list and shows that the Fighting Irish are loaded with talent. That’s despite the fact that guys like Riley Leonard, Xavier Watts and Howard Cross are among the talented veterans who are moving on.

As expected, the top Notre Dame football player to make the list was running back Jeremiyah Love. Love finished his sophomore season with 1,125 yards and 17 touchdowns while averaging 6.9 yards per attempt. He was the first running back in program history to score a rushing touchdown in every game of the regular season. Love also caught 28 passes for 237 yards and two more scores.

CB Leonard Moore was also named to the first team after his brilliant first season with the Irish. Moore didn't make his first start until game five and he didn't take over as the full-time starting boundary corner until game seven.

Despite getting a late start on his freshman season, finished his freshman season with 48 tackles, 11 pass break ups, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two tackles for loss.

Finally, Senior guard Billy Schrauth was named to the second team offensive line. Schrauth's 2024 season got off to a good start but a knee injury cost him four games. Schrauth played solid offensive line as a guard, the remainder of the season and he's expected to make a big jump in 2025.

When the Notre Dame football kicks off its 2025 season, it’s going to be doing so with quite a bit of talent and more and more people seem to notice just how much.
