While things are mostly looking up for the Notre Dame football team, there is one issue that is more than a little negative. While the Fighting Irish still technically have the pledge of 2025 QB commit Deuce Knight, it has seemed for quite a while that he was on his way to decommtting.

There is at least a little bit of optimism considering that he hasn’t pulled the trigger on the Auburn Tigers just yet. That alone is a bit surprising considering how certain so many people have been that he was going to pledge to the SEC school.

Notre Dame football has reportedly been given a reprieve and might even be coming to South Bend for one visit in a couple of weeks. However, Auburn is putting on the full court press, they’re having other players recruit Knight. And it looks like it might be working.

4-star running back Alvin Henderson is currently committed to Auburn after having been previously committed to Penn State. It’s clear he and Knight have formed a little bit of a bond and their latest social media exchange should make Irish fans more than a little nervous.

Notre Dame football should worry more about Deuce Knight

Henderson tweeted out at Knight, “let’s do this … “ and then “Auburn family let him know where to come.”

That was a relatively normal social media post for a player peer recruiting someone else. Knight has done that plenty himself. But it was Knight’s response that might mean a bit me. He quote tweeted the original tweet and used a handshaking emoji.

It is of course, possible the Notre Dame football quarterback commit was just showing Henderson some respect for singling him out. But this continues to be an issue to watch closely. Especially as the expected visit date draws near.
