QB commit sends unsettling message to Notre Dame football fans

It's never particularly great to see a Notre Dame football commit repping another team on his own time.

Are you exhausted by the Deuce Knight-Notre Dame football soap opera yet. The “good” news is that it might be about to end. It could end as soon as this weekend.

The bad news is that when the final episode of the Deuce Knight soap opera ends, it looks the series finale will see him head to Auburn. The Tigers have been the team to beat according to most analysts for a few weeks now. That even though the 4-star quarterback is still a commit to the Fighting Irish.

On Friday night, the highly-touted quarterback recruit quietly put a dagger in the heart of Notre Dame football fans while he was warming up for his high school game. More than a few people noticed that Knight was throwing the ball around before hand while sporting an Auburn Tigers towel in his back pocket.

For some, they might poo-poo that as a big nothing burger. However, Knight tends to wear his teams. He was famous for always repping the Irish with apparel. Having an Auburn towel just one day before he’s slated to visit the school officially.

Notre Dame football fans not happy about Deuce Knight’s latest move

That towel is being seen as the latest sign that Deuce Knight will pull the trigger in the very near future, if not by the end of the weekend and he will no longer be a Fighting Irish commit.

If and when that does happen, the silver lining is that at least one recruiting analyst has already said Notre Dame football fans don’t need to panic if he decommits because they’re in a good situation quarterback-wise.
