The Notre Dame football team knows that when it kicks off its season opener tomorrow, it’s going to be playing in one of the tougher environments in the sport. However, it looks like not everyone is in agreement in just how tough it is to play at Kyle Field.

EA Sports launched a rather large patch on Thursday as preparation for Week 1 starting and most of the college football beginning its season in earnest. In doing so, Electronic Arts poked a bear that the Irish probably wish it hadn’t.

One aspect of the update that didn’t get talked about all that much pokes the Texas A&M bear just before 100,000 people go to the stadium to watch their favorite team play Notre Dame football.

Notre Dame football opponent gets poked ahead of Saturday

In EA Sports College Football 25, the developer updated the toughest places to play. Before the update, Texas A&M’s Kyle Field was ranked as the toughest place in the entire sport.

With the new rankings, the Aggies are dropped all the way to 11th toughest. That’s bound to be met with more than a little bit of anger from fans who take pride in that sort of thing.

Worse than that, it’s a rather large probability that when news of this reranking spreads, Texas A&M will use it as a way to make sure the fans are as loud and rambunctious as possible.

Not the best news for Ntore Dame football by any stretch.
