The Notre Dame Fighting Irish already got one commit to bolster their program this week. On Wednesday, they might get another one. Micah Shrewsberry has been working hard to turn around the basketball program. That turnaround could come rather quickly with this infusion of talent.

Jalen Haralson announced earlier this week that he was down to three teams. The Irish are fighting Indiana and Michigan State for the 5-star forward from Fishers, Indiana. However, not long after he announced his final three, analysts believe the Hoosiers are basically out of the running.

That means the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team and the Spartans are the last teams standing. And according to one analyst, Shrewsberry’s crew are really the last team still in the race. Of course, that’s not really a race at that point.

“Sources have indicated that Jalen Haralson has cut off contact with his three finalists heading into today's decision announcement,” Jim Coyle wrote on Twitter. “The belief is that Notre Dame is trending & the teams will learn only shortly before he makes the call.”

Notre Dame Fighting Irish trending for big star

The Irish have been working hard of late to land in-state talent. There happens to be plenty of very good players in Indiana. With Indiana State, Purdue and the Hoosiers all going after that talent at the top level, it can be hard.

Haralson is set to announce his commitment on Wednesday night. So at the very least, the waiting game for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish basketball team won’t be long either way.
