Marcus Freeman came up with way to 'scout' Texas A&M from home
The Notre Dame football team has been prepping in all sorts of ways for its game tonight against Texas A&M. There is of course, the usual scouting department efforts of watching game film.
Approaches like running through practice with someone on the scout team pretending to be Connor Weigman. And there's going over reports to find out who the players are that the Irish need to stop. The players that the Blue and Gold could go at the most to find a weakness.
Oh and there's the Notre Dame football head coach playing College Football 25 in order to see who is the hardest to stop in the video game and taking that and using it in the real world.
Marcus Freeman has an interesting way to scout opponents this year
Marcus Freeman was on the Pardon My Take podcast and was asked about if he ever plays the popular video game.He shared that his kids play the game a bunch and that he tends to find himself playing it with them.
When asked about if he always plays as Notre Dame, is when things got interesting.
"Funny story, last night I was telling somebody that I get home late and the kids are playing and one of them is using Notre Dame and he's like 'dad, do you want to play?' and I'm like 'sure' and he was like 'I'm Notre Dame, you can't use Notre Dame!""
So I end up getting Texas A&M, and after I'm playing with them I'm like 'you know, this is a good way to scout your opponent, I want to see who the stars are and all those different things and how they work"
Marcus Freeman doesn't know if he'll use the game to scout other Notre Dame football opponents but he thinks it could a fun little tool every now and then.
