Notre Dame football fending off all comers for top QB commit

Deuce Knight and Notre Dame football have a relationship that is as strong as ever, despite more teams trying to elbow their way in.

It makes sense that Notre Dame football faithful would get worried about someday losing the commitment of quarterback commit Deuce Knight. It’s not like the teams that are recruiting him are backing off. Nor is the number of teams coming after him decreasing.

However, for his part, Knight has made it very clear that while he can’t stop other teams from entering the fray, he’s not straying.

“I’m Notre Dame all day," Deuce Knight said while appearing at the Showdown 7on7 tournament last weekend.

He’s said this before of course. There really doesn’t appear to be any reason why Notre Dame football coaches are worried about losing him. But they’re making sure that the dual-threat quarterback knows he’s well-liked in South Bend.

Teams are coming calling. Whether it’s Ole Miss or Colorado, it’s clear that there’s some reason why teams believe they can flip Knight. This despite the fact that he’s been one of the most active peer recruiters in recent Fighting Irish memory.

He’s not just a guy that is going out on social media and hoping to lure a player here and there either. He’s someone that other recruits are taking notice of. He’s a guy that other recruits are saying they’re looking at Notre Dame football because Deuce Knight is committed there

Notre Dame football not in danger of losing Deuce Knight

That he’s very devoted to the Fighting Irish is clear in just how many trips the Lucedale, Mississippi recruit takes to the heart of Indiana. He’ll be on campus again in March. He’ll almost certainly be there for the Blue-Gold game as well.

When he is there, he’ll be doing more of that peer recruiting.

It’s not worth telling other teams they should probably give up on Deuce Knight. It’s unlikely they will. But there doesn’t appear to be any air between the quarterback and Notre Dame football.
