The Notre Dame football team has a massive recruiting weekend coming up. The annual Grill and Chill is one of those massive events the Irish have started staging that allows them to recruit multiple players at once.

Marcus Freeman and company are hosting a large number of commits and uncommitted 2026 prospects. This is the last big recruiting event before the Golden Domers officially start preparing for the 2024 season. Noah Grubbs will be in town to check things out again and help peer recruit.

In addition to Grubbs, Joseph Reiff, Christopher Burgess Jr., Gordy Sulfsted, Dom Hulak, Anthony Sacca, Ethan Long, Mark Zackery, Justin Thurman, Daniel Anderson, and James Flanigan are all back in South Bend to hang out and bond.

One has to think that there could be a commit or two coming from this weekend. Though quite a few of the guys in town are being heavily recruited by others.

Tyler Merrill

Merrill is an offensive line target out of Pennsylvania. The 6-5, 320-pound blocker holds offers from Ohio State, Georgia, Alabama, Michigan, Clemson among others. The 4-star 2026 prospect.

Chancellor Barclay

Barclay is a 3-star offensive lineman out of Florida who isn’t quite as sought after but still has a ton of big schools coming for him. At the moment, the Gators look like the odds-on favorite, but Notre Dame is hoping it can turn the tide.

Jakob Weatherspoon

Weatherspoon is a 4-star athlete out of Ohio that is looking like he will eventually actually be a future Buckeye. However, the Irish are going to try and turn that around as well.

Other Notre Dame football prospects that will be in town and taking advantage of the hangout are Gavin Mueller, Joey O'Brien, Blaine Bradford, Wassie Lugolobi, Cincere Johnson, Thomas Davis Jr., Simeon Caldwell, Damari Simeon, Gabe Hill, Braeden Jones, and McHale Blade.
